Now while it would make sense for Aer Lingus to join *A (giving their extensive UA and possible AC relationship) I don’t think they can join as a full member at this time within that short time frame. Easy to introduce, just block the middle seat and hand out some food.

The only difference between FlexiFare and business class would be better seating and free food because the rest is comparable. I can imagine that they were testing the water with the FlexiFares which mostly are on a pricing level that could be business class. Now I usually don’t trust rumors but the introduction of premier was mentioned 4 times to me by 3 Aer Lingus FA’s and 1 BMI FA, so maybe there is some sort of truth to it. Ever since Aer Lingus introduced the FlexiFare there have been rumors about them re-introducing Premier on certain routes.
